Carlyia Ltd – Full Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions govern all services provided by Carlyia Ltd. By accepting a quotation, booking works, or instructing us to proceed, the client agrees to be bound by the following terms.

 

1. Quality Standards

  • All electrical work is carried out in accordance with BS7671 (IET Wiring Regulations, 18th Edition).
  • Installations will comply with Part P of the Building Regulations (2022).
  • Where applicable, Carlyia Ltd will issue the relevant certification and notify the local building control office of the nature and extent of the works.

 

2. Guarantee

  • Carlyia Ltd guarantees all workmanship for 12 months from the date of completion, provided the installation is not altered, tampered with, or repaired by third parties.
  • Materials and components are covered under the manufacturer’s warranty.
  • All installation work is covered by the NICEIC 6-year insurance-backed Warranty Scheme.

 

3. Scope of Work

  • Only the items and services explicitly listed in the accepted quotation are included.
  • Any additional work not specified will be charged at £85/hour + VAT unless agreed in writing otherwise.
  • Any requests for additional work not included in the original quotation must be submitted in writing by the client and confirmed by us as accepted works along with an agreed price or will be subject to £85 per hour plus VAT whichever is the greater
  • Quotations are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.

 

4. Disruption & Making Good

  • Power may be shut off during works and temporary supplies may be fitted.
  • Flooring, ceilings, and walls may be accessed or opened to allow cable routing.
  • Where channelling is required, Carlyia Ltd will, if specifically detailed in the quotation, fill to a rough bonding coat only . A smooth coat and redecoration are not included in the quotation.
  • Making good is limited to areas detailed in the quote. Where provided, it will be a bonding rough coat only and will require a finishing coat and decoration by others.

 

5. Damage & Limitations of Liability

  • Carlyia Ltd will take reasonable care to avoid damage. However, due to the nature of electrical work and the age of some properties, minor incidental damage may occur (e.g. cracked plaster, lifted floorboards, loose carpets).
  • Carlyia Ltd shall not be held liable for repairs to such incidental damage howsoever arising in connection with the execution of our work.
  • We are not responsible for waste removal, unless specifically stated in the quotation.

 

6. Access & Delays

  • The client must ensure clear, uninterrupted access to the work area on agreed dates.
  • Delays caused by impeded access, other trades, or unclear floor spaces may result in additional charges at our standard hourly rate.
  • Parking permits must be provided where required. Otherwise, parking costs will be added to the final invoice.

 

7. Payment Terms

  • A deposit is required to confirm booking and secure a place in our schedule.
  • Final payment is due upon completion of the works, unless otherwise agreed.
  • Projects over £500 may require interim or staged payments, agreed in advance.
  • Accepted payment methods: BACS, card, cheque.
  • All materials, fittings, and components remain the property of Carlyia Ltd until full and final payment is received.

 

8. Late Payment & Debt Recovery

Late payments will incur:

  • Statutory interest at 8% above the Bank of England base rate
  • A fixed late payment charge in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998
  • All legal and administrative costs incurred in the recovery of outstanding sums, including court fees and solicitor costs including our costs for administrating  the debt recovering

 

9. Certification

  • Electrical certificates will be issued only upon receipt of full payment.
  • Carlyia Ltd reserves the right to withhold certification until all outstanding balances are cleared.

 

10. Working Practices

  • All fittings and components are supplied as white plastic conforming to British Standards unless otherwise specified.
  • Carlyia Ltd will provide all necessary materials and labour, unless agreed otherwise.
  • Additional works not listed in the quotation will be charged at £85/hour + VAT unless a price has previously been agreed between us in writing.
  • All fittings remain the property of Carlyia Ltd until paid in full.

 

11. Legal Compliance

  • These terms are governed by UK Trading Standards and Consumer Law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
  • Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
  • Any clause found to be unfair under UK law shall be severed without affecting the remainder of the agreement.

 

12. Errors & Omissions

  • Carlyia Ltd reserves the right to correct any errors or omissions in quotations, invoices, or documentation without prejudice.
